Vests & Life Jackets
A life jacket or vest is designed to keep children safe in case they fall out of their boat or ship. Life jackets are also worn by adults who want to stay afloat if they get into trouble while swimming. They can be worn alone or with a life ring. If you have a child between ages 4 and 7 years old, you should consider buying them a life jacket. Children under age 5 shouldn’t wear one because they don’t understand how to swim well yet.
